NetWorks Fixed Access
Analyze, Plan and Optimize Access Networks
NetWorks Fixed Access is a tool for planning, optimizing, and documenting the outside plant of your fixed access network based on FTTx, PON, HFC or Ethernet technology. Network planning and construction support are combined in one tool - with flexible licensing of the individual application components. Thanks to included optimization functions operators and carriers can reduce their investment and operational costs. The implemented features allow efficient and flexible planning work. By using the optional planning database, several users can work simultaneously in different projects. The Fixed Access application is used by many of our customers.
It is also possible to order planning and consulting services from Detecon. Numerous municipalities, national and international network operators, and engineering offices worldwide are already benefiting from our services. Thanks to our expertise, it is possible to take different technologies and topologies into account.
Detailed information on the NetWorks Fixed Access product can be found in the flyer:

Use Cases
We support you in a wide variety of use cases:
Structure Planning
The application supports the design of ducts and conduit systems for the fiber rollout in access or backbone networks as well as the monitoring of the construction progress.
Following features distinguish the application:
- Design the duct network manually with included checks by configured planning rules
- Consider different underground construction technologies and material concepts
- Provide bills of quantities and construction plans for ducts and conduits with optimized text positioning in automated way
- Assign status to each network object
- Structure the development areas and the sub projects
- Align the planned and built ducts in automated way based on GPS measured data
- Generate reports in commonly used formats
Cables, Equipment and Fiber Connections
NetWorks Fixed Access supports the planning and documentation of the routing of cables in conduit systems and their allocation by fiber connections as well as of splice and patch connections at the equipment.
Following features distinguish the application:
- Calculate the fiber capacities of optical cables at all network levels
- Provide configuration of cabinets and closures with cassettes
- Through-connect the end-to-end fiber connections under consideration of specific protection requirements in automated way
- Provide bills of quantities and splice/patch plans in automated way
- Prepare work orders for installing, changing and retiring
- Document as-built changes
- Generate reports in commonly used formats
Order-based Provision Planning for Bandwidth and Fiber Services
The application supports documentation of the built network across all layers.
Following features distinguish the application:
- Status documentation of each network object
- Alignment of planned routes with GPS-based survey data
- Incorporation of red pencil corrections
- Calculation and display of the utilization of individual components
- Analysis of disturbance effects
